Howry Breen & Herman recently successfully settled case where our Austin personal injury attorneys represented a pilot who suffered trauma and injury to his back and neck after a bar stool collapsed. Demonstrated in a video by DK Global, the details of the case were unique and required us to recreate the events of the accident in our representation of the victim.

As you can see in the video from DK Global, the chair collapse caused our client to exert a large amount of force to prevent falling backward. This caused hyperflexion in the cervical and lumbar spine and herniations to disks in his back and neck. Initially, it was difficult to explain the severity of his injury, given that he did not make contact with the ground, and appeared to avoid significant injury by preventing a fall. However, by recreating surveillance footage from the bar where the incident was recorded and doing so in conjunction with a biodynamic expert, Howry, Breen & Herman and DK Global were able to produce 3D animation that clearly shows how the plaintiff sustained his injuries.

With detailed x-ray animation and the help of the biodynamic expert, Howry Breen & Herman and DK Global were able to zoom in on our client’s back, showing the viewer exactly where the cervical spine injuries occurred. Another X-ray recreation shows where hyperflexion on the lumbar spine took place. With the help of these precise animations, we were able to pinpoint the origin of our client’s back and neck injuries and secure a settlement for him commensurate with his serious injuries and disability.
