Despite a hometown advantage with a local jury, attorney team, and client in Angleton, Texas at the Brazoria County Courthouse, Randy Howry and his plaintiff client, a natural gas company from Los Angeles, California, were victorious in their breach of contract and deceptive trade practice trial. The verdict exceeded $1.5 million in favor of Howry’s client, for punitive damages, expenses, lost profit and attorney fees. During the five-day trial, Howry presented the saga of his client located in Los Angeles and their experience with the equipment purchased from the Angleton company. The equipment was supposed to chill natural gas as it was extracted from the ground but it never functioned properly and was ultimately discarded. Howry used various GPS-type applications in his presentation to the jury and judge to help explain the predicament of his client.
