Local Priest Investigated for Abusive Conduct With Women
Investigations are being conducted as new accusations have been made.
A Catholic priest is being investigated for “breaching both physical and emotional boundaries” with several adult women, and possibly one female youth. An article from KBTX was published on December 9, 2019, describing that Fr. Michael Sullivan of St. Mary’s Catholic Center in College Station engaged in the abuse beginning in 2013.
A priest has a very special and important role for a religious person. There are reverberating effects of a priest perpetrator who is attempting to force sexual advances, or “cross boundaries” of a female parishioner or patron, often resulting in an extreme sense of shame, self-blame, vulnerability, and post-traumatic stress.
